Many thanks to Tim of Pandora.Com for the nice conversation with the Dallas crowd Thursday night. It was informative and entertaining. He told the story of how Pandora.Com got started and how they went from zero listeners to oh about 16 million today. He answered every question and stayed until the last person (me) left.
One thing many may not know is that a good bulk of the listening content comes from independent artists. I was shocked to see that there weren’t any artists on hand to hand over their CDs to him. Artists, if you have a chance to catch a Pandora meet up…GO! Hand him your music so that he can take it back to the lab and get the folks working on adding it.
Tim is wonderfully attentive and patient when it comes to listening to pitches and answering questions. I think he loves it.
Well unlike Sean Puffy Combs I do believe in and need sleep. He calls it “Bitchassness” but I call it tired. Goodnight folks.
