The debut album from Cincinnati-based melody-makers Seabird bears an appropriate title, Til We See The Shore. It’s a fitting banner, freighted with a sense of hope and longing befitting of a band like Seabird, one that specializes in soaring, Coldplay-revering rock songs destined to fill arenas, and move hearts, as lead singer Aaron Morgan puts it. Brothers Aaron and Ryan Morgan “share the emotions, victories, and defeats we all experience as normal, every day people.”
Its first national project since forming in 2004, Shore is a collaborative effort with producers Jacquire King (Modest Mouse, Kings Of Leon, Tom Waits, Switchfoot) and Allen Salmon (Mute Math, This Beautiful Republic), and a rousing key-driven rock record to get lost (and found) in.
If you’re not one of the many trafficking their Myspace page, maybe you weren’t aware of the monstorous summer tour the band has organized. Kicking off this Saturday at the Gorge Ampitheatre in Washington, the band is scheduled to eat, sleep and drink touring through November. We can think of no better menu for a band this special.
