Self taught photographer Greg Daniels is a consummate master of creative photography with many years of providing his clientele, both fashion and editorial, with images that consistently deliver superior quality, and innovative style.
Daniels’ phenomenal eye has been sought out by many businesses and models in the fashion industry. His attention to lighting and detail pays off big time when viewing the final product.
He approaches each shoot and assignment as a vehicle to create images that are visually appealing and uniquely original. He works with each model individually to bring out their sense of style and personality.
Applying his technical skills and expert knowledge of lighting and pictorial composition for any and all genres of his craft, Greg Daniels is considered by many to be one of today's preeminent photographers in the state of Texas.
UTM - What first inspired your interest in photography? What continues to inspire you?
Daniels - I was inspired by the love of fashion from an early age. When I lived on the East Coast, I worked with a clothing designer. I started shooting some of the wardrobe just for fun. I would also look in magazines and see great fashion images and say I could shoot that. So, I purchased my first film camera and started to practice. I continue to be inspired by the changing world of fashion. Creating new images that attracts the eye and attention of the viewer.
UTM - How did you develop your skills as a photographer?
Daniels - I developed my skills mainly by trial and error. Practice, practice, practice
UTM - When did you know you finally "made it" as a professional?
Daniels - People that would see my work would say, your work is fantastic and you should be doing this fulltime. It took me some time to decide if I should quit my normal day job and take my photography to the next level. The question being, can I make enough money to support myself and family. I don’t feel that I have “made it” to the level that I want to be at, but I am surely working on it. A Professional photographer is one that does it fulltime to earn a living.
UTM - What do you like most about being a photographer?
Daniels - What I like most about being a photographer is the freedom to create beautiful images for everyone to see.
UTM - What does it take to be a fantastic photographer?
Daniels - Patience, a creative eye, eye for details, imagination and determination.
UTM - Do you work exclusively with film? Are you working at all with digital images?
Daniels - I am working with digital images.
UTM - What are your favorite subjects to photograph?
Daniels - I love to photograph fashionable images male or female.
