Mr. Gnome

This Ohio duo is cool in epic proportions. Their EP has caused a bang of noise and rightfully so.  Trip Rock is made edgy, 3D and gloriously alive by guitarist/vocalist Nicole Barille and drummer Sam Meister.

Their sound is so full and complete you would think you’re listening to a full 6 person ensemble...but uh nope. It just these two dope folks and a measly 5 songs on the EP.  Not enough to feed the hungry beast in us.  Other than the fact that we’re left hanging, wanting more, the ‘Mr. Gnome EP’ is completely gorgeous.

The name of the EP is a conglomeration of names of their loved ones, just like the song ‘Dr. Cakorkian’.  Our favorite on the EP is ‘Barb’s Revenge’. Barille’s vocals slide into your soul while her guitar riffs sear and burn their way throughout the CD.

So what more can we say, except we’re glad these two found each other. The stage is glad they found each other.  And our speakers are for damn sure glad they found each other.  Barille claims that they actually stumbled upon their sound by accident and realized that it worked and stuck with it.

Their rhythm changes are so sick, it’s like listening to 3 songs in one.  They start off in one location and somehow warp to another dimension and then drop you back off to your original location all without you being able to pinpoint where exactly they strapped on your seatbelt and started the vehicle.

Trust us...we love to travel and we couldn’t think of any better more capable pilots to get us there.  Wherever “there” is...I can’t finish this sentence as I’ve run out of clever things to say.  Just check out the band.
