Prosper Jones is a graffiti name (Pro)sper J(one)s created in Chicago in 1995 that matured into an emcee alias that’s since left listeners wondering what was next. Prosper Jones is the epitome of eclectic when it comes to his music. A mix between Del the Funky Homosapien and a Shaman, he does not just rap- He creates songs with subject matter that ranges from sexually transmitted diseases to bicycles to running from crack heads. What fans love most about his songs is his strong narrative skills that intertwine with his subtle humor approach of topics that otherwise seem preachy or uncomfortable.

History:

Primarily a visual and performance artist, Prosper Jones has created a hybrid of the three in his latest music project “The Byproduct.” True to definition, The Byproduct directly references the life experiences of Prosper Jones and chronicles the stories of the people he has met on his path. This release, his fifth independent installment to date, has proven to be his best yet. 1998’s “Prospers Patternz” and 2000’s “Eclectic Sound Quality” paved the way for 2001’s “The Middlewestenaz” featuring Joav-One and J-cup and 2003,s “Capital Peez” featuring Perv-One. His previous releases have foreshadowed the coming of 2006’s “The Byproduct.” Prosper Jones is the new flavor of hip-hop and a true preserver of the culture. Now the world will get a true taste of Chicago.
